About

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Jarrett Sampson, a self-taught woodworker and artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia and I make stuff with wood.

My work explores the duality of wood as a medium, Boltwoodshop was born as part of that process. I craft functional, hand-carved spoons from locally sourced hardwoods, celebrating the natural beauty and simplicity of the material.

I also create vibrant folk art, taking inspiration from many talented Nova Scotia folk artists past and present. My art is made from reclaimed wood and painted by hand, giving discarded materials new life and exploring themes of sustainability and whimsy. Both avenues reflect my passion for wood's versatility, traditions and its enduring presence in our lives.
